I noticed the guy holds the button all the way. It is only when he letās go of it that the siren goes to sleep. I was thinking that Lust is what makes a man weak, therefore the button was made in a way that when heās caught in the illusion of the sirenās lust, he easily breaks free and regain his consciousness. Otherwise if it was a āonce-off press buttonā the remote would slip and give the siren an easy way out. What do you think?

She was defintly trying something with how angry she looked. Pretty valid in my opinion, considering she is being experimented on, electrocuted and sedated when she resists.
She was in the last short, yes. But it looks like the statue was controller her and the other mermaid to sing, too. Forcing THEM to control the guy.
Edit: Read the description. It states the statue was controlling the sirens.

I just realized, she's is only able to stay awake and unsedated while he's actively holding down the button. Meaning if he ever lets her sing for too long, and he starts falling under her spell, he'll automatically let go of the button in his trance, thus preventing him from completely succumbing. It's a built in failsafe. Awesome detail. ā¤

I think I know why he can't get enough Data. As soon as she wakes up to REALLY do her song he sedates her. Giving just the barest bit of info without getting much of anything. Hence the loop. He doesn't want to be affected by her Magic to the point that he's shooting himself in the foot

Actually, it's a good way to capture sound attacks. Not everyone can just befriend a siren enough that you can visit them and ask them to sing into a recorder!

Well after reading the description I can tell you guys this isn't the fella from the previous short. Seems the guy from before may have just been a sacrificial pawn to be able to grab a siren to harness the siren song-- for whats "porpoises" we may not know now, however the animator is quite on top of posting stories so we may know just yet.
