I think people truly don't understand eren, specially the ending haters. Eren is a maniac, he is not entirely innocent too, as he said "I was born this way". He is much more of a complex character. He didn't want to do the rumbling, yet he wanted to do it but couldn't admit it to himself. I think the reason why he wiped 80% of the world population is maybe to recreate the world we first were introduced to and that he believed in it. A world were 80% of the population were killed by titans and paradise were truly the only remaining. He was forced to do the rumbling because of the future he was slave to, but a part of him was disappointed with the fake freedom he was fighting for. He want it but still hate it. He also said "I wanted to do it" to armin in path. There is so much layers to his character it's truly fascinating. Best mc I know for sure.
