If you're new to producing and only know a single scale that's cool, but please, do yourself a favour and learn the basics. Shortcuts like this only work to undermine your long-term growth. There is great joy that can be found in learning a craft!

I think this is a tip that can get you going when you need to get something done right now but on the long run, if you're producing for other people and working with musicians, there's nothing better than to be able to play and understand all keys and how they relate with each other. You'll find that just by having different hand positions in different keys might inspire you in new and different ways. A little tip: if you can play the E minor and A minor scales, congrats, it means you can also play G major and C major, just start with G and play the E minor scale and start with C and play the A minor scale to get a C major scale. This is called relative minor scales

I think is more effective learning the Major scale by Tone and Half tone formula Major: T-T-H-T-T-T-H Then you just apply this formula to any key and if you want minor key you just start counting from the 6th note Minor: T-H-T-T-H-T-T

I do this all the time. Produce in A Minor then transpose everything so that it fits my vocal or whatever.

I feel like skipping the step of understanding is so limiting. If you know music theory then you know that the two scales shown can also represent the notes of another scale and allow you to switch keys within the music without it sounding off and lets you create much more unique music
