If this hurts though, you may need stability in your core muscles. Squat University talks about this stuff all the time and gives great tips/info on it! Love both of these doctors

I've struggled with back stiffness and occasional pain since I was a teenager; I'm now 40(m). A few years ago when on holiday I tried pool yoga for a laugh and I felt so good that I found some yoga youtube videos and have been doing it a few times a week ever since. I've been pain and stiffness free for the first time ever.

I have degenerative disc disease and if I don't get up from my desk and walk around the building at least 3 times a day, my back hurts so badly. I have come to realize the only way I'm going to survive getting old is to keep moving.

And walking too much can cause you pain as well. I have a lower back injury and while walking does help, up to a point, after that point it cause your muscles to stiffen and your back to hurt again or even more. I have a job where I walk about 4 - 6 miles every 8 hour shift. Now, this is just my own experience and can differ for others.

Fibromyalgia and POTS cackling in the background. Walking makes my pain so much worse. So, so much worse. Of course I still do it, but exercise intolerance is a B

I swear when I do anything "too long" (which feels like anything at this point) including walking, it majorly increases my chronic, lower back pain. Walking especially. It's not that I enjoy not being active - I actually hate that I can't be as active as I used to be or go on hours-long "walk & talks" with my best friend during Summer nights. It's very frustrating. Sometimes, the pain of walking can actually put me out of commission longer than not walking will. (I'm talking about walking that's required for running errands, not just sitting around all day doing nothing). Errands used to be easy and something I never really thought about and actually even enjoyed doing 20 yrs ago and even worse 10± yrs ago. * had to correct a word I left out- enjoyed

Women featured doing deadhsngs did nothing. All she did was release tension in her upper back.

What about the education sessions with the physiotherapist? Seems like it'd impact that as well, not just the walking.

Informative as always, and thanks for the "feel good endorphins" at the start of the video.

It’s the physio that assisted them.

I have arthritis in my lower spine. Walking, outside, or on the treadmill at the gym definitely helps my pain. It's something i have to do very regularly.

True, I have spondylitis and Spondylolisthesis walking 10k steps a day for the past 3 years. Absolutely no back pain whatsoever! Totally worth it. The orthopedic told me to get a surgery to get rid of the LBP.

But it was walking and I fro from PT, right? Not just walking? When I walk a lot, it causes my back to hurt. It doesn’t make it better.

I have 2 "slipped" discs L4/5 S1 back with very deteriorated veirteabra and have been dealing with this for 7 years. The best remedies I found were: heat, walking, daily yoga for 20-30 min, strength training. It really is all about changing the habits!
