But does it matter? The world runs off the top 20%. Those people have the IQ, motivation and other intrinsic abilities to seek and acquire skills within our system. We are still the best system for the top students. So why focus a vastly disproportionate amount of resources to marginally improve the attainment of bottom quartile kids?

We haven’t fixed education because education in public schools isn’t even the point. It’s state funded childcare. I’m sorry Mr. Terry, I know you do your best and your colleagues do too, but what it’s really about is keeping inconvenient little people occupied while the adults go out to be producers or wage slaves, until the kiddos are big enough to do the same. COVID proved that.

Why haven't we fixed education? Because the government would rather over-fund the military instead of doing literally anything to invest in our people. Investing in education doesn't make them money, the military industrial complex does. Everything comes down to money.

I believe the problem at least on the college level is exams plate worth way to much of your grade. If you fail a exam at the end of the semester you do bad on a exam you can fail the entire course and I don’t understand how that’s fair
