Providing AI models AI-generated material is like inbreeding. So many defects....

Teaching AI with AI feels like inbreeding.

Well if AI has consumed all the knowledge of the world and still can’t get basic facts right maybe we shouldn’t be feeding it more data maybe we should be adjusting our model

Them: the model is outputting 💩, we need more training data. Also them: let's use the model output as more training data! Everyone else: garbage in, garbage ou

‘Why does it smell like shit in here’ ‘Because you gave me shit and asked me to replicate it.’

Anyone who knows remotely anything about AI should know that feeding it it's own input as regular training data is the worst idea lmao

The problem is that AI isn't going to verify that the info is true so if it sees a bunch of people memeing that flintstone vitamins give you super powers it's going to state that as as much fact as anything else.

Soon they'll feed it Discord messages and the qualitity of the models will completely go down the drain.

Lol AI "dogfooding" will work about as well as letting developers test their own code. I think south park did an episode about smaug but I can't remember if it's relevant.

Time to take the human approach, train thousands of LLMs from scratch and then make them talk to each other, then hope for the best.

Ouroboros, but it progressively eats more of itself until it's just the head

The incredible thing is that there will be a need for this human created training data, so, in short, humans have created robots that can generate content, and we have then gone "Ok, so the humans will be the ones who write the content, and then the robots will read it." exactly the opposite of what we would want to happen.

About the Reddit thing, people on Reddit are actually fighting back against it in a unique way. A lot of people are just putting "bazinga" in random places in their message to confuse the AI. So if your chatbot randomly says "bazinga," you'll know it was trained on Reddit

it's comforting to know that my AI Overlords also find those articles to be shit.

Ahh, as a computer programmer, nothing is a bigger lie than "I'll come back to this later". If it's "working" with what's there already, it's almost never going to get worked on again for optimization purposes haha

In the future there will be an actual creative job where your only work is to write new stuff for the ai to read

This is so funny because I was literally just talking about this earlier with AI picture training. There is going to have to be something put in place to prevent AIs from being trained on other AI generated things. We were talking specifically about photographs and how quickly AI would devolve if it was being trained on other AIs outputs lmao
