Just like with the 1968 original, it's more realistic and logical but impossible for this kind of film. You'd have to constantly figure out ways to shoot them without veering into R territory, and it would simply not be worth it. Might've made an interesting Director's Cut though

The funny thing is that in the case of apes, they have this excuse that they are hairy so they can walk around without clothes on because the problem is human nudity and not simia.

Making the Farrell humans naked wouldโve made this movie rated R. That also wouldโve been taken from the original book by Pierre Boulle. An R rated take on planet of the apes would likely not make as much money.
