To be entirely fair, it's not just about the stereotypical feminine "gay" way of speaking, it's the combination of that with the conservative/traditionalist Bavarian accent (the 3 main guys are all from Munich) being dialed up to 9000 that makes it a very unique combination. It's the antithesis of it that makes it comical, at least for me.

Seriously, people need to chill the eff down. I remember watching the movie with a whole bunch of gay friends, making an event out of it, bringing Kaesesahne Cake and Prosecco and having a blast. I have been working at the same Radio Station as Bully had and met a lot of the same people there (Munichs Gay District, the Glockenbachviertel) that inspired his characters and I can say that none of them have felt in the slightest bit mocked or disrespected but took it in the spirit of friendly, even loving jibes as it was meant. In a lot of ways this is a hommage to a (sadly) bygone era. Stoesschen!
