I feel like Justin was trying to choose the right person for himself. Maybe he knew it was toxic with Selena and chose hailey partially for that reason but then Selena broke like that and he knew he fucked up with his decision and that that was truly the end for them and maybe that’s why he says she’s the biggest inspiration for his writing and things.
