A palm nailer can get in tight spaces when you need nails. Nails have good shear strength vs screws that are brittle to bending, like in floor joists or ganging king/Jack studs. An inspector might not give you a pass if they see a screw where there should be a nail unless the engineer accounted for it in design or materials like using Simpson or Tapcon structural screws.

Some things that I was taught which may or may not apply but screws have pull strength and nails have sheer strength

Depends on the task right. Like a screw will break but it won’t pull out. And nail will pull out but it won’t break.

Nails are always quicker and faster. Screws are great for final assembly and permanent position of truss or framing , stick framing where hold down or up power is called for on metal!

It's funny to me as here in the UK we use screws for everything.the only thing a nail gun gets used for is fencing, or weather boarding.

I do a LOT of re-models and repairs. I use screws to minimize vibrations and dislodging wall hangings etc. Love these short vids btw!
