Despite all its flaws, Trazyn is unironically one of the most "good" characters in warhammer, you can see that he has great sympathy for the species of the galaxy and it can be seen as a noble gesture his desire to preserve their deeds in his museum when their societies will be long gone. Granted, keeping them ALIVE in stasis is not really nice, but this is still Warhammer. Literally remove that and Trazyn would not fit, it would be way too wholesome.

It's funny that despite probably doubling his lifespan, it shocks Trayzn that he was passing so soon as the Necrons have essentially forgotten what the passage of time is and does to living beings. On top of that, it also shows the caring side of Trayzn and that he takes care of those added to his collections.

What’s very interesting is that, the scarabs are only really a formality.
Only needed to end the life if absolutely necessary.
So it’s implied that, this dude, willingly served Trazyn for his entire career, and was given everything promised to him, with no caveats.
Trazyn truly is the only Chaotic Neutral character in 40K.

Trazyn is at the end of the day, a collector. His Librarian was nothing more than a momentary addition to his vast menagerie of things. Or so Trazyn likely thought, but as what happens to most collectors, you find that some of your things are just more important to you than the others
