Canada uses pull stations too. Mexico has a mix of European and American fire alarm systems.

Oddly enough I saw an American Simplex system at a hotel in Athens, Greece. The only time I’ve seen an American system outside of America, Canada, or Mexico

Should look at Japanese systems they are impressive, they go as far as making the exit sign have its own alarm so you can find it in smoke.
