That’s why I always buy from either online dealers or reputable sellers with a decent amount of good reviews and a reputation that’s at stake

I’ve only bought precious metals from SGB, SD Bullion, JM Bullion and one from BGASC. One exception: bought three 1/4 oz gold ML from an LCS that is very reputable.

Facebook ads, gold eagles $9.95 - $19.95 and Facebook does nothing to stop it.

I only buy from the Royal Mint. Yes they're slightly more expensive than dealers but it's a price worth paying for peace of mind in my opinion.

You can for sure tell by the colour. If I was inexperienced I might miss that but I sure wouldn't miss the weight of it

Bought a fake 1oz. Canadian maple off eBay. I tried to return but didn’t catch that it was fake until it was too late. Buyers beware, this was an expensive purchase and in the end got nothing.

Looks like the ones I bought from TEMU. Now that I’ve studied a few different ones, the plastic capsule is the first clue.

The old expression holds true to this day, "If it looks to good to be true, it probably is" I only shop with established boullion dealers, you pay more, but it's worth it.

Real coin is always obvious like day and night. It’s flawless. Eagle or Liberty what the face With perfect Matt Finish, looks like satin wood .Which appears very difficult to fake. And like always devil is in the details.and today gold buyer definitely has smart phone so all info needed real time in ur hands never rush with expensive purchases.

Without a sigma metalytics machine or one of those X-ray machines, you can do a density test. For fakes, the size may be off, but the weight will be ok. Or visa-versa. But I have heard that a really really good fake would only be able to be figured out from the machines. Then again, I am no expert.

You nailed it when you said the field is wavy.. I don't like proof coins. I will not buy them, I like rugged coins. I don't have to worry about a rugged coin if I drop it or hold it with my fingers like a buffalo or Philharmonic. I think a proof gold American Eagle is beautiful, but I wouldn't waste my money on it...

I only buy and sell slabbed PCGS and NGC gold eagles and buffaloes that I can verify at the websites. Stackers beware. There are lots of these fake coins floating around out there.

The first thing I do when I buy online is to weigh the coin than put a very strong 🧲 magnet to it. Than measure the coin
