The scientific name of this beautiful cactus is now Parodia leninghausii - but in the past it was also called Eriocactus leninghausii, and Notocactus leninghausii, and it can still be commonly found under these two latter names today!
It is a truly fantastic plant that can also quite easily be grown by newcomers to the cactus hobby. All you need is a warm and bright, partially sunny spot by a window, on a protected terrace or balcony. During the late spring to late summer months, water the cactus approximately every 1-2 weeks... just make sure the soil completely dries out before the next watering. And in the winter dormancy months, keep it in a slightly cooler, but definitely frost-free location. It can go without water for a month if you have it in such a location during the dormancy period.
