I found two "1923 Library of Health" books for $5. They both had some minor spine issues. One had a little bit of water damage. But they both had all the anatomy pop ups (they're usually missing several) and they had all of the inserts.
I sold one for $230. But the other copy had one extra thing in it, that's original to the book. It had a little envelope with a letter telling you what specific pages talk about contraception. Contraception is not in the index. I don't have a clue how much value that one little item adds. I have not found another copy for sale with that envelope! I'm sure they immediately threw it away back in those days.
I also found a first addition "My Anonia" in near perfect condition. It's actually one of my favorite books. And I had already gotten a first edition as a gift from my husband. This one is in far better condition. But I can't bring myself to sell it...yet. I have seen it in similar condition, selling for $1,500-$2,000! Even I don't spend that much on books.
Books have always given me the biggest return. But I only do this when I know what I'm looking at. And am willing to part with it. I don't go out with the intention to sell anything. I'm a collector. Thrift stores are a fantastic place to find expensive books. A collector dies, and things get donated. I've found several books I couldn't afford otherwise.
Also, take a minute to flip through the books. I've found money in thrift store books many times.
Happy hunting!

I didn't watch the entire video before I commented the first time. Please don't avoid cranberry glass ashtrays. They go for about $5 dollars at the thrift store but sell for $30-$75. I happen to have found three of the same ashtray at three different stores. I kept them. but they sell for $40-$75 on Etsy. I would always buy any cranberry glass.

Wow a bunch of mass produced products are worthless you dont say lol. why do you always show things that are the mass produced bottom 10% of the market that are mass produced garbage and just assume the whole market is dead without any thought as to if an item has rarety how many were made how big is the market your selling into. How old they are. Where people in that market typically buy from etc lol glad people like you exist because you make my life as a reseller super easy you literally teach people to just avoid everything when in reality they should be well versed in why certan things in that market are expensive and where value comes from. Also you literally picked up the one glass tray that was actually worth money there lol thats actually fostoria american wich has a pretty large fanbase for exapmpe sold a tiny shugar dish missing the lid for 10 dollars you prob picked up a 10 to 15 dollar platter minimum lol

Yep, those collectors plates especially... ✔️ Everybody that collected those is dead or has moved on to the nursing homes.
There are some CDs worth selling I sell quite a few, but I only scan classical, jazz, blues, bluegrass.. lots of Asian buyers for classical and jazz so make sure you have international sales for those. I'm told there are some old rap and rock CDs worth looking at, but I haven't gotten into those.

I sell tons of CD'S. You just have to know what sells and what doesn't.
