If my memory serves me Right, that Night Lord was using a sword capable of reading an opponent and essentially auto pilot it's user to victory. But when he came to fight Raldaron, the sword actually turned off out of respect for him, leaving the Night Lord to it's luck

On one hand, I can respect that he actually challenged and fought him, most Night Lords wouldnāt have done that. On the other, heās a Night Lord. A portion of the Night Lords trilogy was about how most of them arenāt even warriors and just monsters preying on the weak. I donāt know what he expected.

The fact that Skraivok and his family were partly responsible for what the Night Lords became (Curze as well) because they kept filling up the Night Lords with the worst criminal dregs makes this all the sweeter.

"You are cowards, like all cruel men" is such a good representation of the Blood Angels after Sanguinius was found.
He turned them into honnorable warriors, actual Angels of the Imperium and while the fury within their heart is still here, they'll never be cruel, they'll never be the monsters they could have been.
In short...they're very nice dudes. The only reason Salamanders are the nicest Space marines is because the Blood Angels have 2 curses to deal with...so they can sometimes be a bit cold.

Funny thing to note: Skraivok was using a daemonic sword during the Siege that gave him extra speed and strength. The daemon in his sword decided to turn off his powers when he faced Raldoron though to fuck with the Night Lord
