We do this with mono on our game fishing gear when we get line twist and it works a treat. Just remember to cut off the snap swivel as a buddy of mine had a Marlin try eat the snap when they ran it put behind the boat π

Been doing it for yrs, esp when using certain lures, they twist up a line something awful. This works.
Even if you got a lot of twists respooling line, this will fix it.

this is true, works with all line. and you can do this in a river without moving.

I never have had any twist in my braid with a spinning reel. Thats why we use braid over mono or flouro. You may want to switch to power pro braid.
