Full explanation of whatโ€™s happening from a sports guy: This is a corner kick, which means that the ball went past one of the goals (over it or to the side of it) and the team that was trying to defend the goal touched it last. The team that was trying to attack the goal gets to kick the ball in from the corner of the field. Typically this means kicking the ball farther to try to get it right in front of the goal, but in this situation, they went for a shorter pass. After taking the initial kick, the players start running in the direction of the goal. Without really thinking about it, the player who received the pass decided to kick the ball back, but at this point the player who had taken the first kick was in an offside position, which basically means that they were closer to the goal line (the line that the goal is on, although the goal is offscreen in this clip) than any of the defending players. Since this player was offsides when the ball was kicked to them, the linesman (an assistant referee) raises his flag to signal to the head referee that an offsides violation happened, which means that the head referee will blow their whistle and stop the play, and the other team will get to kick the ball from where the offsides happened. Edit: Honestly, the offside rule is just not very easy to explain through words, especially through something like this that probably could have been worded better, so no shame if itโ€™s hard to understand for anyone. Just wanted to give my own explanation.

For those who donโ€™t understand what went wrong the kid in the video took a corner kick and when the other person passed it back they were offside. All that happens after is the other team gets a free kick. Hope this helps!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

coming from a kid raised by helicopter parents; THANK YOU. you have to let (your) kids make their own mistakes and learn, and sometimes that means having them fuck up royally.

Hi Gwenna (hope I spelled that correctly) I know you get a million comments and canโ€™t possible read all of them but I am a huge fan. I love your videos as they are so relatable, funny and compassionate. So many things that you share here about parenting has literally changed my parenthood journey. I have a special needs daughter and a very hyper son who are still very little. With that said there are days I feel like I am drowning. None the less I know how incredibly blessed I am to have them in my life. Your channel helps me to laugh and not feel alone. Thank you for being who you are and so unapologetically. You are so awesome and your kids are lucky to have you. Youโ€™re killing it girl! So much love โค๏ธ

Oh this resonates with the look my mum gave me when she opened the door to drunk teenage me at 3am. She stepped aside to allow me to kiss the carpet, closed and locked the door and went to bed. She did leave water, a bucket and a towel by my bed ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๐Ÿ˜‚ same treatment as my older siblings first drunk arrival l

Any tips/modeling for letting the kids in our lives fail safely? Some kids grow up as if the stakes of failure are astronomically high, then grow into adults who end up passing that on, intervening at the slightest hint of a potential mess-up, or even not letting them begin any task they could fail

I was totally caught of guard on this. I knew I had to let them make the mistakes, it was the feelings that came with it. For future parents, be prepared for a range of emotions. The best feeling won't happen on that day, it will be the next time your child doesn't make the same mistake. This time period can go from 1 day or extend into years. REMEMBER, nobody worth a darn said parenting is easy. Where do you think the gray hair comes from?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚โคโค
