That is a very subjective experience and isnât really necessary unless itâs offensive to the locals and may cause unnecessary glances from strangers. A Muslim woman will not just go and walk around in a vest and shorts in a Western country to blend in. It was actually very silly for this Muslim woman to agree to that, without thinking whether if the same would apply if the roles were reversed. Muslim countries do not expect Western women to wear burka or hijab when they visit. They just expect respect and modest clothes, respecting the religious and cultural beliefs of that country.

Except reversed wouldnât work out as much. Imagine telling a Muslim not to wear their hijab or other covering while I a country where thatâs not the norm. Religion trumps the norm in another country and that wouldnât happen.
So this isnât the best advice for every instance.
However if I canât be myself and visit a country Iâm not going.
But I do believe people should repriced others cultures and rules when visiting anotherâs country.

When non Muslims travel to Muslim countries, they comply with the culture, respects it. Biggest example was the FIFA in Qatar. No alcohol, no PDA etc. But when Muslims go to other countries, somehow they are reluctant to accept and comply. For example, muslim immigrants in France.
