I was diagnosed in my 40s after years of feeling ill. Im 50 now. Along side lupus and sjogrens came gratitude for the smallest things because they are the biggest things to us and appreciation for the people in my life which carries me through each day. Its taken the diagnosis to help me do this.

I was diagnosed at 25 with a 1 year old toddler. It was hard at first, still fighting! Couldn’t agree more, lupus made me realized how important my life is and how I should cherish every moment of it. Most importantly I learned how to love myself more! 💜

Living with lupus now for just over 32 years. I was diagnosed at age 11 (this was back in 1991). I was induced into a coma for 7 weeks to keep me alive. I have had several close death encounters with flares and am still here, life is amazing!

From birth until the end, everyday is a roll of the dice our lives left to pure chance, sure we can improve our odds via eating well, taking care of ourselves but even our best efforts can't hold a candle to misfortune and bad luck.. I was feeling pretty tired at one point in my life, unusually so.. fatigued, no energy, weak, lethargic it just felt something was off, I went in and the ran a few labs on me, one was the ANA titer test, mine cam back positive for the speckled pattern but my vitamin D level was very low at this point in time too. I feel fortunate, because I think my issue was either low vitamin D or dehydration because not long after I developed kidney stones and I also supplement with Vitamin D occasionally. I still have moments where I get unusually fatigued but this could be anything really, stress, work, anxiety, diet etc.. but I still always wonder if my body has a ticking time bomb in it that will go off when I am in my 40's or 50's and I will get rheumatoid arthritis or something else.. I did have a horrible skin break out after taking the COVID vaccines years ago, so I wonder if my bodies immune system went into overdrive and also attacked my own skin cells, so maybe that's why I have the positive ANA because my autoimmunity is skin related.. still it's frightening to think what may be lurking under the surface, ready to come out at any moment. I sure as hell don't take any moment of good health for granted anymore, especially seeing so many people around me suffering with so many different conditions, I am grateful for what I have and my heart goes out to anyone suffering, I hope in time advances in science and medicine alleviate or even eliminate many diseases and disorders of the human body soon

I'm 15 and I was just diagnosed with lupus a few weeks ago, I'm trying to manage it with diet, havent been in to a reumatologist yet, what would you recommend for diet? Or at least getting the flares to go down, or stop. I'm in an endless flare and I dont know how to stop it
