Chad Wesley Smith first created the structure of the Bridge Block in 2014 to use as an off-season program for myself and since then, himself, ‪@marisa_inda‬ and thousands of others have used it to help build their work capacity, resensitivize themselves to competitive variations by disrupting adaptive resistance and generally benefit their long term training goals.

To get the most out of the Bridge Block make sure you…
-Set maxes for all main variations you’re using, even if it’s an estimate
-Lift with great intent! Do each rep with maximal force
-Adhere to the 3-6 reps/set, only doing reps that are with great intent. If you feel the bar slowing down significantly, then rack it and rest until the next set.
-Embrace the variation, not doing the comp variations in this time is ok, in fact it’s by design to avoid adaptive resistance.
-Push your accessories, particularly things like Carries and Unilateral Lower Body work this will help keep you healthier in the long term.
-4 days/week for 6 weeks is the ideal bridge imo
