My daughter uses a wheelchair and when we bought this house 5 years ago we only bought it because every single door is 36", and there is no hallway. I seriously don't like one single thing about this house, but we're here for the doors. Truly, I understand you.

I've been in a wheelchair for a year, and it angers me that my bedroom doors are big enough to get through, but neither of my bathroom doors are! I'll be walking soon, but the contractor is redoing both doors to make my house more accessible!

Our house is 100 years old and every door not only is a different size but because the house is shifting (we live on a hill) they are all different shapes! The top and bottom aren't square 😂 we also have mini doors that slant sideways because the upstairs bedrooms have a roof slant! 😅 all this to say, I understand this aggravation completel

When I bought my first home and wanted to replace the storm door out front just to spruce up the look of the place, I brought the measurements to the hardware store only to find out that it was a “custom” size and would cost roughly 10x a prefab storm door. That was my first glimpse into the reality that nothing about owning a home is easy.
