I think the Gentleman is supposed to symbolize Henryk's insecurities as a failed artist. Henryk says that views his cooking as his art. Since we know his artist career went nowhere, it's likely that he tries to maintain some artistic craft in his food to keep himself content with his life. However the fact that the Gentleman's āfoodā is sexual and meaningless implies that he doubts this āartistic foodā talk deep down. It might seem like the Gentleman oblivious to how disgusting the "food" is from his dialogue, however if we compare it to Tanaka's moonscorch āJudgmentā itās clearer that the Gentleman is a manifestation of what Henryk views as his flaws.
Judgement's dialogue sound confident and happy, which makes it seem like Tanaka views what he has been through to get to where he is in his career as a good thing, however Tanaka's notes looted from the corpse says otherwise: āI tried to fool myself. Deny the inevitable. There's no mistaking it anymore. I've felt it inside me for few days now. What happened to Marcoh and everyone else in this cursed land... I know I'm next. The gut wrenching nausea deep within me... It's growing... Fast... All my memories and regrets... They become increasingly heavy. It's a burden that is almost too much to bear. I now understand why Marcoh succumbed to the madness. It truly is a fate worse than death.ā
Judgement is a manifestation of Tanaka's regrets, despite the fact that Judgment says that heās better in his new moonscorched form. Thatās why I believe the Gentleman is the same. The Gentleman may say that heās a artistic man, but it actually shows that Henryk is self conscious about his art, food and possibly the fact he's 32 and single. Given he kidnaps Marina and the sexual āfoodā

I mean, moonscorching amplifies their worse impression of themselves usually, right? Then I donāt think itās right to blame Henryk for his moonscorched formās actions. When heās sane, heād never do such a thing.
Thatās saying a hell of a lot more than certain contestantsā¦. (I think the guy Iām thinking ofās name is Caligura?)

I feel like a lot of people miss that Moonscorched forms are often distorted views of how the contestants view themselves. Its the fear and anxiety they have about how others view them. Yes, Henrik is a bit of an asshole sometimes, but his defining character trait is that he IS gentlmanly, and is always trying to be. He fears that people may accentuate those moments he steps out of line, and doesnt appear so. This is why his moonscorched form gets so angry when you don't play along. Much like how Marcoh appears as a hulking beheamoth holding a man by his neck, feeling guilt and shame over the man he killed in the ring. Or Olivia who appears as a girl encased in a metal machine. Feeling defined by her wheelchair, and afraid that when people see her, they just see a girl helpless but to rely on her machine, confined to her metal prison.
