I personally think Ruger makes the best revolvers around, they're so well made and durable, I like my Smith and Wessons as well, but I've had some QC issues with them before.

Ruger stuff: they makes the barrels 4.2” so they are legal in Canada; 4.2” converted to length in mm being 106.68mm. That is so close to 4” that Ruger feels it not worth the added costs (and chance of a mixup I’m sure) to make 2 diff. Barrels.

Without seeing your group, does staging the DA enhance your accuracy? It clearly slows you down. I tend to shoot DA better overall with squeezing continuously thru the break.
