A question for guitar players, would yo rather have to play a show with a set of dead sounding strings or with a new set of strings that you have never played before? 🤔

This is very interesting decision. Great question!

I’m picking dead purely because new strings usually means tuning issues. Dead strings I’ll notice and maybe a few guys in the crowd do too but if there’s tuning issues my whole band and 1/3 of the crowd notices.

Acoustic players are like NEW STRINGS.

I can get most of the "dead" out of the strings by doing some real fine tweaking of an eq but there's no way to take away the "break-in" period of new strings except by playing them!

I play 3 gigs a week, I prefer dead strings. New strings a little bright for me. Obviously I do change my string on occasion.

I almost prefer dead strings😅😂 Haven't changed my strings on my Martin for a year.

Depends on how dead but I never let my strings get so dead they don’t stay in tune. So dead for me. Love this channel!

As a mandolin player i would pick a new set, as long as they're not nickel wound. Why do they even make nickel wound mandolin strings, seriously?

Not only a great question, but we'll reasoned responses. I am a dead head unless you change my strings. I hate doing that. Actually I would grab a guitar with fresher strings.

I know a guy that refuses to change his strings until they break and they have been on there for years! Oh yeah he is never in tune btw
