This is how my mom taught me and my brother destress. I didnt even realize it till i was older. When im worried or overwhelmed Id suddenly be vacuuming my room. Doing my laundry. Washing my sheets. Or reorganizing an already organized draw. Its been a great help and keeps me grounded as an adult. Thanks Mom ❤ 😊

As a fellow angry thrower, my healthy version of this has been exercise. Instead of throwing that shoe or punching that wall, I go "throw" weights around until I'm too tired to be stressed or mad anymore. Cleaning/organizing while upset tends to just upset me more because it lets my brain stew over what I'm upset about, or stew over the fact that I'm cleaning. Not quite physically demanding enough. But that's just me (and hey, maybe you too!).

I truly wish I was one of these destress cleaner/organizers. When I’m stressed, I’m paralyzed. I sit and stare, or sometimes eat comfort food, and then I feel worse because I’ve wasted a whole day. 😢

De stressing is important, and I don't do it quite often enough. But can we talk about how beautiful this bookshelf is??? I love it!

You always tell us (even us non-parents) we’re doing great and I think you may need to hear it. You are doing great! You change lives inside and outside your home, you make a difference. Thank you for that and remember you get to have patience with yourself also. ❤

Yes ma’am! I clean and organize everything in our home. There are so many things we simply cannot control. So let’s choose to control what we can and process how to accept it as we tidy up our spaces. Mental Health Matters!! Take care of yours! You deserve it!! ❤

Thank you. You gave me a moment, a reminder, a permission, a suggestion to actually feel what I need to feel. And I do - feel it too. Bookshelf looks great by the way 👍

I did that last week. I cleaned my whole kitchen after work. I was stressed from work and because the kitchen was a mess. I did the best I could within my free time, due to the fact it's getting demoed next week for a renovation. But I have a clean kitchen!!!

I also used to be a thrower. I hadn’t even realized that’s what I was doing when I was doing it until you put this into words. Now I clean. Or I take my dog for a long walk. Or go sit someplace and read. And I hadn’t even noticed I changed my habits. Thank you. ❤

I feel that, I’m glad you have coping mechanisms. Proud of you mama! Keep being an awesome parent, I’m sure Abby and the littles all adore you and are very happy to have you as a mom. I know I would ❤

I often find that doing some tarot readings or journaling helps me get rid of stress especially recently. The stress is incredibly heavy and I’m very happy that you and me have found our ways of coping💜

Oh my gosh this!! I couldn’t put what I was feeling into words like this. I destress the EXACT same way. Feels good to have words to why I rearrange a room.
