I had a supervisor call me at 7 am, screaming that I wasn't in the office yet and that I'd be written up for being late. I had to remind her that I didn't start until 8 am. When I got into the office, I was immediately pulled into HR for a write-up. I had to remind them of my actual start time. Oh, and this supervisor? She often didn't show up to the office until 10 am.
Out of all the jobs and supervisors I've had in my work life, she was the absolute worst.

Got an E-Mail from my manager once (he was notoriously late), half the team and boss in CC, asking me when I would like to appear in the office. It was 10 am at the time.
I was at a customer site, since 5:30 AM, an appointment he himself assigned to me.
Wrote back that I am already on site for 4hours and 30minutes, as ordered by him. But I can drop everything and return to the office within 90 minutes, if he needs me there.

I used to have a boss who used to clock watch the gate every morning and tap his watch if I was a few minutes late.
I used to stay late most days so i wound my window down (slowly as I literally had to wind it down) and said “when you are around to clock me out, clock me in”.
Later on he said “Fair comment’ and never bothered me again 😊

Last week I was going into the office because we had a training session. After dropping off my kid at school, I made a poor choice in route and ended up calling because I was going to be late. My boss literally couldn't have cared less about me being late because it didn't affect my work.
I am trying to figure out how vital the employee's work could be that 4 minutes matters, but the time it takes to argue with said employee doesn't.

Boss probably turned the phone on at 8:34

I'm trying to imagine a "desk job" where 4 mins matters that much... Nope, can't do it.
