Asian-american here. Growing up around other asians and their parents, I would hear them talk about dating sometimes. Some stuff I'd commonly hear: "Study hard and become a doctor" "Focus on good grades and making money when you get older" "Marry a white person because it's best for you" "Marry a rich man of the same ethnicity as you" And some variations of those. Parenting absolutely has an affect on how a lot of asians growing up perceive themselves and the world.
