This classic EQ from the 1950s is used all over the world in mixing for its unique trick. It’s called, the Pultec Punch and it will give your track a super punchy bass.

1. First, select 60 hertz in the low end.

2. Then, add a boost of plus 5.

3. Lastly, attenuate it to 5 as well.

This will then leave you with that curve that makes your low end sound insane!

Thats a dramatic setting on a mix. I usually will do 1-2 either way. Watch out for sucking out the low mids too much which will cause a very amateur cheap sound.

Is the plugin applied to the Bass bus or Master? I would assume Bass bus because I feel like cutting out the midrange freq would be rather harsh on master.
