I teach ESL and these suggestions are spot on in corporate or formal settings. Try NOT to use sorry, instead apologise. Use the word “sorry” for heart felt regret about something you’ve said or done to hurt or disappoint a loved one or close friend or to express condolences for someone’s loss.
