《綠色星球》足以稱得上是一部經典影集。
所謂經典，在於不論何時、何地，或是多少次欣賞它，我們都能從中獲得啟發。
透過縮時技術讓植物動起來，才意識到植物的時間尺度和動物的差異，原來植物為了生存和傳承，特化出很多稀奇古怪的行為與技能；為了爭奪更多的陽光跟養分，想辦法長得更快更高；為了佔領土地，利用特殊的結構把其他競爭者驅離，再加上各種「小心機」讓動物成為介入這場生存戰的幫手。在陸地上是如此，在水裡的植物世界更是如此，植物與動物之間的交互關係也非常的緊密，透過引誘、擬態與其他生物互助等方式讓生命可以延續，讓種子可以被帶到遠方。
