Newly released records reveal a Seattle police officer was fired from his job for trying to cover up his involvement in a hit-and-run crash and then trying to pressure a woman involved in that crash to lie to police.

Records also reveal the officer was also accused of sexually assaulting the woman.

This incident happened in February 2021, but the criminal case and the Office of Police Accountability investigation only just wrapped up at the end of last year, ending with that officer being charged with a DUI and fired for his actions.

The report states on February 9, 2021, the officer, who is not named in the OPA investigation report, was out with a woman in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and the two, “drank seventeen shots of tequila between the two of them over about two-and-a-half hours.”

So he simply moved shop to another location or to the Sheriff’s Department. They will hire him and he will do it again.

Two margaritas and 8 shots of tequila. She was at least somewhat drugged.

Sounds like she was drugged. But even if she was just wasted, you don’t take advantage of a person in that condition. I’m guessing the cop drove to the motel…drunk.

Poor decision making by the both of them. How did they get to the hotel? Abusing alcohol is so ugly.

It's funny how they can convict a ham sandwich, but not most cops.

Sounds like a classic case of “we investigated ourselves and found nothing”.

Who was agreeing to all those shots? Is there video from the bar? Did they uber? Did the bar over serve them? There is more to this story than what it appears . Sounds like they should have meet at a coffee bar, who knows? 17 shots of tequila between two people. Wow. I never had tequila until I was 31. I call it liquid acid.

Regardless of the authenticity of the rape allegation, the problem is the cop was covering this allegation, and that stinks of misconducts and abuse of power.

Nice we don’t know the officer’s name. He gets to move in to another district, county, or state and start over.

Wait, what? A woman drank an indeterminate number of tequila shots (between 1 and 16) and 2 margaritas, and her date also drank an indeterminate number of tequila shots (between 1 and 16). Both intoxicated, they share a hotel room for the night. She -- having willingly drunk herself into oblivion -- doesn't remember deciding to engage in sexual activity with her date... so, its an assault!? Doesn't that also mean that she assaulted him -- since he, too, was intoxicated?

So this officer deserved dismissal in February 2021. Did they make his termination date Feb 2021 and recoup all salary and benefits he received since then? Seattle taxpayers should not have been footing the bill for this criminal hiding behind a badge!
