The drones as first responders program was launched for emergency responses, police said. The program enables a pilot to fly a drone to an incident, "quickly assess a situation and possibly de-escalate it without directly exposing officers and community members to harm," police added.
Drones will be dispatched along with officers. The intent is to arrive faster and provide real-time information to responding officers, “unlike other agencies that use drones as a resource after officers arrive on the scene," according to Redmond police.

Reminds me of that Ray Bradbury story. You couldn't step out your door without being tracked and watched. Then, if you get in trouble for being out past curfew, you get picked up by a drone helicopter. One guy eventually found out that no human had been operating the system for DECADES😳😳😳 Wild.

That's a terrible idea, so they're going to send a drone first and then assess the situation, then send a police officer, if need be, wouldn't that take longer.
If sending the drone in addition to police officers, that cost more for taxpayer, you would think not. But I'm sure they would think of a way.
I bet this is just a way to spy on people with face scanning.
