Head canon:
Kharn's kill count is so high he's effectively blind in one eye. This is why he keeps one arm bare, so he can feel the wind as he swings Gorechild, feel the spray of blood, feel the breaths of those around him, so he can still sense his surroundings on that side of his body.

Laughed when Kharn appeared in the Alpha Legion novel I read, confronting the protagonist's sneaking group and then Saint Celestine appeared, and Kharn just went "BETTER TARGET ACQUIRED" and ignored the Alpha Legionnaires trying to steal several factions' objective in the middle of a gigantic battle. Alpha guys were just "don't ask; just grab it and run!"
Kharn did lose sight of the victory condition that day.
