Listening to the corporate owned radio stations drill the same 5 hour playlist for the rest of eternity.

Working in a CVS pharmacy and having to listen to their corporate CD over and over again…

The same music, no matter how divine it is, playing over and over without ever ending. I have no doubt that even the most sublime of all cantatas sung by angels would drive anyone insane.

My "good" musical hell is Gnaw Their Tongues. Terrific project. My "bad" musical hell is a world without music honestly.

Definitely anything by either of the Johann Stauss father/son diabolical duo! Their banal waltzes, polkas and whatever other trite rubbish they devised would drive me insane inside 30 seconds. The very thought of that shite on repeat forever drives an ice-cold dagger of fear into my heart.

I was taken to a surprise concert in London by a friend that thought I would love it but wouldn’t let me see what it was until the concert started and Einaudi showed up on the scene. It was the most horrible music hour in my life, unable to escape that torture until the intermission.

Going to the gym without headphones in order to chase "clean dopamine" but subjecting myself to their in-house playlist that plays nothing but interpolated songs that were popular 15-20 years ago over herrendous MIDI beats

Trapped in a never ending department store or wal mart type of store with non stop radio hits of the last three years playing extremely loud forever.

Ooh I love this question. Recently I was joking with friends that we should play our favorite songs, but leave out the person who loved it. So for example, in our group, playing Summertime but without our trumpet player (which is his favorite song). Or playing my favorite piece right now, Rhapsody in Blue, but with a jazz combo arrangement, without me on piano. That would be my take on musical hell, though, to be fair, I'd probably find it more hilarious.

Hearing my works played over and over again in an elavator is definitely hell

Being locked in an American department or grocery store where “pop music” is blasted at ungodly, loud volumes.

I actually have a lot of trouble finding music that if I listened to it by myself on my own time that reach "hell" status. What makes any music hellish for me is the social aspect, not wanting to offend anyone, being alienated in one way or another if I'm not enjoying the music in the right way, or if I don't "get it." Hell is other people!

Whenever I attend a wedding and start hearing pop music badly arranged for string quartet, and inwardly melt away ...

All Shostakovisch string quartets played simultaneously. It has been done and I was there - so now I'm afraid of nothing...

The piano transcription of Petrouchka, anything by Morton Feldman, Klemperer's Bach recordings and Simon Rattle's Bruckner 7 will all be playing simultaneously as I enter the gates of Hades

My musical Hell: forced listening (90 dB) of "Oxygène" from Jean-Michel Jarre during more than 72 hours in a row.

easy - trapped in a lift with the music left on... and/or held up indefinitely at the supermarket check-out listening to the loop... the poor supermarket employees deserve better!

Being in a room full of people praising yiruma river flows in you and and canon in D, and not being able to say anything about it like it's overplayed, it's mainstream, there are far better pieces out there, more emotional pieces out there without sounding like I'm a pretentious snob 😔
