I'm growing some carrots right now in a container, and I placed a plastic bag over it while they germinated to act as a humidity dome, and they sprouted in less than a week! I was *shocked*!!

What a great demo! If you deal with tiny seeds like that migrating from their cells, watering before you plant helps them really lock into place too. Happy gardening!

Ignore the need to thin them if all 3 seeds germinate. Why add fertiliser, just get a good compost rotation going

I found compost is a bad idea too much and it grows leaves and micro carrots. I live in the desert with sand and clay they seem to do pretty well without compost. Edit The problem is too much nitrogen with compost
