Nice to see someone young knowIng all about the M1. Rifles are older than he is. Been many years since I have held one...

Ar15s do the same thing, just dont keep rechambering the same round over and over and you should be fine. Like you said, keep the gun pointed in a safe direction just incase 😁

I had an out of battery slam fire from a friends reload with the primer not fully seated in my H & R national mach M1. The rcvr web below the rear of the bolt split letting the rcvr bow outward causing the op rod & bolt to get all disconbobulated & the stock split most of its length. That was in the 70s on a camping trip, we were able to squeeze it back close enough to shoot the rest of the trip😊

Floating firing pin will get you that dimple singel loading of while firing from a mag. Btw.... standard rifle primers work just fine if you seat them all the way when reloading the round

I'm loving your channel content, great stuff. I love all the old firearms from the wars, it's gotten hard to find them here in KY and if you do they are very expensive.

The tang on the fireing pin or the notch on the brace connecting the fins are worn out of spec. Don McCoy showed me a gauge tool to keep an M1 from becoming an eight shot machine gun. I was at a range when a Walther 380 went full auto because of a weak fireing pin spring. There was a Monticello or Monterey Park police officer killed when she was shooting a Mac 10.
