This is very reminiscent of the traditional Hindu push-up called Hanuman dand, only in motion (not to mistake with what people usually call the Hindu push-up, which is the Sadharan dand). With one leg in front and twisted spine, you put more tension on one arm, work on your hip strength and mobility, and with the weird spine twisting you also stretch and train your lats for stability. The old school Indians really knew their shit.

This is a great one to practice for the barbed wire crawl at boot camp. You could probably rocket across the entire obstacle course, and teach SOCOM operators a thing or two. In fact, the U.S. Army would like to know your location.
