Carrying a full size while doing construction type work is uncomfortable. Micro compacts are perfect for this.

As someone who lives where it's over 90°f for 11 out of 12 months, and wearing anything more than a light T-shirt and shorts is risking heatstroke, compacts are great because you don't have to let everyone know you're carrying.

I run 2 pistols for carry. The Glock 45 MOS in winter when I have layers. It’s easier to hide. I run the Glock 43x MOS in the summer. Easier to hide with less layers.

People who carry full size guns IWB dont carry every day for hours or lie about how its just as comfortable. Shield plus holds 15+1 and it feels like a belt buckle in comparison to full sizes

Consider for a moment the purpose of the smaller pistol. It's not a duty gun, meant to carry you off the landing craft and up to the bunkers. It's a more readily concealable size, which intentionally sacrifices a certain amount of real estate in the hand as a trade off. Still, with 17 rounds, one should be able to accomplish most violent tasks, without the need of a reload. If you really anticipate being in a protracted firefight, you're either doing something very wrong, or you need to reconsider what you're carrying.

I daily a Shield Plus. I shoot it better then I have any right to, and I can keep it surprisingly flat under recoil. All my other pistols are full sized duty guns.
Oh and I'm a big dude, 6'1" 230lb, and wear an XL glove.

I carry them more than I shoot them, its that simple. That said, a good holster with a slim duty frame gun makes that difference a little more narrow.
