I asked 5 orthodontists what they recommended and they all said a hawley because a clear retainer loses its rigidity after a year and they get sooooo dirty even if you keep up with cleaning. This video is the opinion of one doctor. Look at the studies and thr Hawley is just easier and more widely used

I literally could not even wear my old Hawley retainer back in my teens 30 years ago, because every single night I would take it out in my sleep and throw it across the room, drop it under the bed or lose it in the sheets! 😂

My clear retainer sucked!!! I wish I would have gotten this one. It cracked within a 3 months. Thats probably why it magically stopped fitting one night

Hawleys are good retainers and can last for years if properly taken care of . The clear retainers are better, less bulky but only last at most 6 months before cracking. Hawley can be designed differently for more comfort and still used.

My orthodontist makes me wear both lol. The clear one during the day and the other at night.

I got my braces off a few weeks ago and I got this hawley retainer and they didn't even ask me about the clear one. They said it was an option but they didn't ask me which one I want 😅 I mean both are pretty common in my country I think. Though I would still choose the hawley retainer because of sensory issue

I got a halley retainer recently because my orthodontist said it was better so I have it for the top but the bottom retainer I have a plastic one but I ended up grinding my top mollars down so I got a night guard for the top now instead of the halley retainer
