Found a staind cd in couple months ago in goodwill I sold for $50. I generally only look for the 80’s 90’s metal and rap. Also anything that says explicit lyrics I’ll scan.
Most are worthless but those I mentioned generally are worth scanning.

The thrift store themselves most of the time already went through the best cds that were donated to them to keep for resale before the public gets to them.

I found a donkey kong 64 sound track CD that I sold for around 80 I believe. You never know, but I never spend much time with the CDs.

goodwill ALWAYS has junk CDs. i really hope that artists pull their songs off streaming platforms and return to vinyl/cd/cassette media. Sounds is EXPONENTIALLY better

I just found 40 cds at a value village that were worth the pickup
One was worth over 100 dollars
Typically I never find anything good when I take a quick glance
But it’s worth a glance to see if theirs anything notables

The only CDs I even scan to consider selling are classical, jazz, bluegrass, blues... A lot of Asian buyers for classical and jazz so make sure you sell international. I can pretty much identify all the classical labels by the spines. I'm sure there are some pop, rock and country CDs that are worth something but it's needle in a haystack for those and you have to make the best use of your time.

Seems to me, in this digital online world,
that CDs and DVDs are worthless.

Found a TV show soundtrack for 1$ at DI it's there's only 1 on ebay for 160$ in Australia. Flipped for 120$

Goodwill goes through their CDs and DVDs and pulls out anything good.
