If you know me, you also know that I take old tools from flea markets, and fix them up and use them. This will be one of the first real nice planes that Iβve owned.
iβll use the #4 Smoothing Plane to square and smooth boards during final finishing here in the shop.
The #60Β½ Block Plane has an adjustable mouth, making it a useful all-purpose tool and to help avoid tear-outs. οΏΌ this hand plane will probably find itself a home in my finish bag in my van,
The 9Β½" long Spokeshave is used for shaping and smoothing rounded pieces like table or chair legs or lamps. I donβt use a spokeshave have a really, but it will replace the one I bought at a flea market years ago and fixed up.

I too love restoring tool, hand to power. Anytime I get a new hand tool that has rust or corrosion, it goes in a pan of Evapo-Rust. Itβs a miracle worker. Maybe you could do a video on rust removal. Some folks use electrolysis which is great, but not everyone has access to a charger and are comfortable with it. Thank you!

Meh. Not a fan of the GW planes....but i am a sucker for lie-nielson. Best new planes in production in the world. The old stanley bailey's are much better than the GW. Wood river planes are a step up from GW too.

You NEVER put a plane down on its planing side just incase the blade is a fraction out as it blunts the blade. Always on its side.
