Bentist teaches us more useful stuff in one video than we learn in the whole year of school.

Dude, genetic evolution is so cool. The fact our bodies have evolved to suit the environment we grew in is just so amazing

Philippines is definitely behind in dental technology, but man, Filipino dentists are THE best dentists I've ever worked with. They can extract teeth like nobody's business, they have knowledge of obscure and uncommon techniques that a lot of dentists in the US do know but are not experienced with ( emergency lockjaw treatment when a patient opened for as bit too long, our main dentist and 2 other associate dentists were a bit panicky on how to fix it back, meanwhile our hygienist who is a dentist in the Philippines calmly put the jaw back in one move) and mucocele surgery.

The correct answer is that they genetically have prognathism of the maxilla/maxillary protrusion.

Lack of technology is one, however, its also the commitment of the patient to come on time that is very lacking. Most patients are busy, out of budget etc so the treatment is not progressing. Most Dental clinics here in the Philippines still chooses the conservative way of treatment, which in my opinion is good. ā˜ŗļø

It's the lack of dental advancement along with most of the people being poor. The dental care you get is the dental care you get.

In the Philippines, they get braces on their teeth for status and aesthetics even if they don't need it. A lot of them would wear braces for years and years. When I heard from this dentist that 3yrs is max to wear braces and get your teeth fixed.

Bro "normal and easy" are not the way to describe North American genetics. Don't pretend to be the center of the universe like all other Americans.

Oof. White European bodies shouldnā€™t be default. You seem like an awesome person and we know you can do better with your verbiage, doc!

The info is cool but I donā€™t like calling non-western shaped teeth a little ā€˜offā€™. Not as easy to make into a ā€˜nice smileā€™ because their tooth shape wasnā€™t researched or catered to. Not because their teeth are off. šŸ˜…

This is mind-blowing. One time I dated a guy who isnā€™t Filipino, and he said some weird comment about Filipinos all having the same shaped teeth. I was like tf are you talking about? Thought he was being low key racist. šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m a FilipinošŸ‡µšŸ‡guy thatā€™s had braces and my teeth look good now, but my cousin thatā€™s also flipino has good natural teeth, but she has flared teeth and it does make her smile and teeth look bigge

this has always fascinated me and literally no one cares to talk about it when i bring it up at the function šŸ˜ in every country or for every race, i swear orthodontists do it differently. it's like they follow a model or standard that they have to get to. it's not trends necessarily, but the teeth i see in latin america look completely different from the ones i see in north america and other places of the world. Partly due to genetics - it's CRAZY. cause yeah all teeth are the same, but at the same time they 99% are not

Forensic scientists would strongly disagree with the different races having different shaped teeth (as in the shape of the tooth itself). The only difference is that native americans and asians MAY have shovel shaped insicors, but even this cannot be 100% indicative of someones race.

Extraction to correct overbite is so prevalent in the philippines. If anything it is more common see more ā€œsunkenā€ looking smiles from post-braces filipinos
