I don't need my Glock to open a bottle. Everything I buy from the store has a bottle opener incorporated in it. I don't even have to take 3 steps in my house. And I have something with a bottle opener on it. No need to pull out a gun!!!

The 1911 was also designed to be a man stopper. Its development was a direct response to the conflicts the US had in the Philippines at the turn of the century. Kind of a flex for Philippinos when a gun was built specifically to combat of them.
