The media itself isn’t that weird but sometimes it’s the micro-obsessions that get you. I don't tend to fall into fandoms like this, but i do tend to fixate on completely random things fairly often. Like ever since i was child I've had a strange fascination with shipwrecks and sunken vessels, especially tragic ones. I just find them all really interesting, but it's hard to explain to people without them thinking it weird or that I'm crazy lol.

The worst is when you haven’t even technically watched/read/played/listened to the actual media, you were just in adjacent fandoms, and took a wrong turn and now all of a sudden you’re fixated on something that you have no real reason to care about and approximately 3/4 of the knowledge you have on the subject is either pure fanon or otherwise second hand
