I camped at Gerstle Cove in Salt Point State Park California this October for few days while I worked and swam in the cove. There were literally hundreds of humpback whales feeding from early morning until sunset just off shore. Itโs a marine preserve and the whales were feasting and jumping in the air in sheer joy. Pretty cool.

I remember doing this in NZ about 15yrs ago. There is a connection there - to be simply a spectator to something beautifully natural - that is difficult to replicate...
