hearing “spacers” and “band” has never given me more ptsd in my life. braces were fine, the stuff before the braces sucked. i had spacers, bands, and an expander. worst experience of my life but i do love my smile😭

a year ago i got my braces and i asked ppl tips cuz i knew they would hurt. i was told by everyone that braces to hurt and neither does the spacers. them mf lied straight to my face. braces kinda hurt but not bad. power chains hurt so bad the first week and the spacers hurt more than the braces and the power chains in my opinion.
if you just got braces and want some tips ok how to relieve the pain scroll down:
1) take Tylenol before your appointment so it will begin to work when u get done
2) eat cold foods like ice cream, popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches ( my personal fav was snow cones)
3) GUM!! this relieved most of my pain but it does kinda hurt to chew it.
4) try to eat soft foods like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and any kind of pasta.
TIP: if you do have to eat harder foods than pasta or something similar to that then try to chew back to where your wisdom teeth are because there’s no pain back there (that’s what i did and it didn’t hurt) also tear/cut it into small pieces and chew it up back there.

I just got braces about 7 weeks ago and the spacers were SO much more painful than braces! When i had the spacers i couldnt bite into anything. I was living on protein drinks, mashed potatoes, and soup.
