This is a reupload but I put a decent amount of effort into making this one and it received 1/100th of the views of videos I sunk less effort into. Believe it or not, condensing a script down to 58 seconds while also speaking at a pace I would consider reasonable, and still having the script contain some amount of substance, is not an easy task. Also increased the volume because I was very quiet in the old upload.

"Nervous" or bored troops are far more likely to fiddle with the safety catch.

Those are great sights. I used to compete in NRA high power service rifle matches. Used those sights to 600 yards.

I feel like the carry handle is like high beams on a car, they're actually very useful when utilize the right way but they are always highly discouraged from being used at all.

The carry handle is perfectly fine to use as it’s named. That’s some fudd lore

You have a solid grasp of military arms dude. I had no idea that was even a big deal. Makes sense now though after hearing it

Same thinking about “training” is why the A2 had 3 round burst instead of full auto .... though i would add thats more valid than the sights. Telling soldiers not to touch the sights is an easy training in boot camp... training soldiers how to a, properly control a full auto M16 while not super hard does require range time. Also training soldiers how to really properly react under fire requires extensive training. A supply private who has an M16 for personal protection is not goong to get a real training in those areas.... and of course the Military wasnt going to spend the money required to have two types of lowers/fcu’s

As a person who has never touched an m16 or ar style rifle and has never read any type of military handbook why the hell would you not use the carry handle like a carry handle?

My biggest argument in the military was they wanted us to qualify with the rifle every year but when in rifle qual you get roughly 1 week of grass training and 1 week of live fire a year. THIS it’s ALL the training US marines are getting with their primary weapon!! They do not let you check it out and practice on your own time! And this is in the Marine Corps it’s WAY less in other branches i don’t even think the airforce has yearly firearm training! Now if that’s our soldiers imagine what training your local police are getting!? Smh

I was in the Marines starting in 1985. I shot expert with this very rifle in Boot Camp. I trust it more than any other rifle out there simply because I was trained to use it correctly. One must approach this weapon as a holy thing. If you do, you can shoot a target the size of a man’s headwithout a scope at 500 yards consistently.

As a military member I agree with never fidgeting with the sights but as far as I know the carry handle is used as a carry handle. Now most of the time we in the Air Force already have aimpoint red dots fixed to our rifles when they're issuing it to us but in basic training i was never told not to use the carry handle... Now being an airforce member i can see how they wouldnt place alot of effort into training us on something we honestly rarely use but im really curious on why we shouldnt use the carry handle as the name implies?

As of yet I've never had an issue with any of my guys messing with the sights on their M4's. Even in cadet land they left them alone without having to tell them.

Burst isn't completely useless, but it's close.

I love the A2 rears. M1 Garand had adjustable sights too, no problem there. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷

Only reason that the A2 sights could be seen as a bad move was an increase in cost
