Hearing that your mother's hatred drove you away from the dress of your dreams makes me so upset for you. I think you'd make a stunning bride in it, when all the styling was done, and because your utter love for it would shine through. If you can make it happen, I honestly say do it. (Maybe a separate ceremony and reception look?)
