The salary of scientists in India, even government ones is disgustingly low as well, leading to people preferring mba or entering teaching line instead of going for research field (after bsc). People often tend to hide it by saying that 'scientists should work for passion instead of greed for money ๐ค' not realising they are falling for corporate propaganda

Even 0.7% goes in to corruption, my wife has done Mpharm & PhD but she didn't get any support despite funds availability with lot's of internal politics ..and university is Delhi university ( not other state level universities). She had to buy all reagents and work done in some private labs with own money !!!

It happen with me too. When i wanted to work on patent which i found and told my teacher about patent work. She didnt supported me. All they were busy to organise a huge pharmacy event in chitkara university. Even me and my friend wrote a research article but she took put her name as author name and tell me that you are not at that level. When we go to other event to do poster representation then director of pharmacy college of chitkara university in punjab get pissed off for not putting his name. Though i never worked with him so why should i put it. This is the conditions of the university in India untill u find a really good teacher in my case it never happened.

This is a very big problem India R&D and education spending are extremely low even if you compare them with BRICS countries. World average in R&D spending is 1.8% and India's is 0.7% of gdp. Most of the Indian workforce are severely underskilled and major upskilling program is needed but it is not there

Caste decides researcher positions. Not talent.
Anyways I'm OBC by birth (I dont care, but castist state does). My spouse is SC (State decides our caste classification, we have no say in our castes classification).
I want my children who dont identify themselves as
1. SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Women, Transgender during competitive exams.
2. Understand that state (parties) are dividing us. But all Indian are brothers and sisters.
3. Fight for merit not for quota as did by Marathas(Maharashtra), Gujjars(Raj), Jaats(Haryana), Patidaar(Guj.) Etc.
One day, we will truly implement the spirit of Article 14, 15, 16 and 17 in society not the exceptions.
Equality of opportunity is the promise not the exceptions (of reservations) which we made in 1951.
